Achilles Tendinitis is an overuse injury of the Achilles tendon. This tendon is the band of tissue that connects calf muscles at the back of the lower leg to your heel bone. This is most common in runners that increase their distance or intensity but can also occur in basketball and tennis players. Their symptoms are mild ache in back of leg or above heel after activity. Treatment should include at home care under supervision of your podiatrist.
